Amish food fest

Looks like it will take a few weeks to verify whether yesterday’s Holmes County Amish Country eat-a-thon broke any records.

I try to avoid buffets if I can.  The willpower required to avoid eating some of everything seems to take away from my enjoyment of the food itself.

It’s no secret that overeating and sedentary lifestyles are chief causes of obesity.  Among the Amish it is a rarity, even though anyone who’s tried it can tell you typical Amish dishes definitely ain’t low fat.

    1. Buffets are the absolute downfall of my willpower and my healthy diet. I have no resistance, particularly to the desserts. By the way, I added your blog to my blogroll (which I’ve been meaning to do for quite a while now!)

    2. My dad always said that my eyes were bigger than my stomach. He was often right. It’s funny to see the ideas of Amish and buffet together, especially when you consider how much food gets wasted at a typical buffet (or eaten ‘unnecessarily’ as most of us have been guilty of(: )

By the way thanks for adding me Genevieve,I’ve put yours up here as well!
