New Song From Amish Couple Ben & Rose: “Here Today”

Ben and Rose are back with a lovely new song just released a couple of hours ago as I post this. “Here Today” is described as “an old Gospel song”.

It’s a song with a weighty message – but Ben and Rose’s rendition has an upbeat feel. “Here today – and we’ll be gone tomorrow.”

And they chose the perfect setting to record the video, given the theme of the song. On the edge of an old cemetery, with beautiful spring flowers blooming in the grass in front of them.

Here are the lyrics (song by Russell Easter, Edd Easter, and James Easter):

I keep watching for the dawning of tomorrow,
where we’ll see our blessed Savior in the sky,
and all the troubles of today will soon be over,
and God will wipe all the tear drops from our eyes.

We’re here today, we’ll be gone tomorrow,
and this life won’t even be a memory,
we’re here today, we’ll be gone tomorrow,
where we’ll praise the Lord through out eternity.

Today we’re getting ready for that final journey,
and I’m making plans to live in my new home,
soon those eastern skies will bloom with clouds of Glory,
and at the sounding of the trumpet we’ll be gone.

We’re here today, we’ll be gone tomorrow,
and this life won’t even be a memory,
we’re here today, we’ll be gone tomorrow,
where we’ll praise the Lord through out eternity.

As is the norm with these lately, some beautiful cinematography in the video by Conrad Fisher, who also produced the song as with their others. Dan Esh contributes some nice harmonica playing.

Have a listen to this latest in the Ben and Rose collection below. And if you haven’t caught them yet, here are links to their other songs:

A lot of people have been asking if they have an album out – as far as I know, no (not yet?).

I also see they have a couple of songs available on Apple Music/iTunes (I’m not really familiar with that platform, fwiw). Might be some on other digital platforms as well.

I think an album would do well if they put one out!
