It really is a blast down in Pinecraft.

A nice article (no longer online), just out in the Urbana/Champaign News-Gazette, on Florida’s Pinecraft Amish community, gives a look at life in the Amish vacation capital.

You can just tell by all the wisecracking and excitement in this piece that those who go really love it down south. Many of those Amish who make the trip to Florida are entrepreneurs, including numerous woodworkers from Midwestern and Eastern seaboard states. While Amish don’t make much furniture while in the Sunshine State, their handicraft is available in numerous Florida Amish furniture stores.
