“Rare to find a truly authentic recipe, but an Amish woman in Huevelton, New York recently mailed me her recipe for “homemade fry pies” with homemade glaze. Wow! It’s just really neat to get an old, authentic recipe. I couldn’t use it my upcoming travel cookbook because it just doesn’t fit in anywhere, but it’s too good not to share. So here it is and I am typing it just as she wrote it (8 pounds of powdered sugar, Holy Cow!)”
