Amazing: New York Amish Move Barn By Hand (Aerial View)

We’ve been seeing a fair share of Amish barn moves lately. This one, from Clymer, New York (Chautauqua County), stands out – because it was filmed entirely from above, using a drone.

You get a great bird’s eye view of the whole process, which looks like it involved at least 100 men.

The move happened just a couple of weeks ago – Saturday, May 31st, 2025. This footage comes from the Slab City YouTube channel. They write:

Over 150 members of the Amish community from Clymer and Sherman N.Y. came together on Saturday, May 31st 2025 to relocate a barn. The remarkable move took less than five minutes and drew many spectators. A true testament of loving your neighbor as yourself.

Here you can see them starting out with the barn move leader in front:

A closer view of the move leader, who guides the process from start to completion. You can imagine it’s important to have one person in charge to help coordinate the group, to get the job done right, and of course for safety’s sake.

It’s not quite as straightforward as the last Amish barn move we saw, where the men basically moved the barn forward less than the length of half a football field.

In this case they need to turn a corner, avoiding some obstacles like trees, and rotate the barn to set it down on its new foundation.

The drone rotates nicely to show us a new angle as the barn continues forward.

And descends closer to ground level for a better view.

We see that there are a fair share of non-Amish observers, as well as some participants (which you can notice by the clothing of some of the barn carriers on the side).

Next they begin to rotate the barn, as it needs to face in a different direction on its new foundation.

Here we go…

Just about got it.

With the barn over the foundation, the move leader walks around it to inspect the job. That’s him there in the middle, walking around the right side:

The barn in place, the carriers step away and start to disperse.

But wait! We’re not done yet. Seems it needs a little adjustment.

That oughta do it…

The job complete, men start coming away from the barn.

And everyone has a chance to admire their work.

A job well done.

In the final shot, we’re left with a look at the barn’s old location.

Great job by the team – and great job filming this by Slab City. Check out the full video here:
