New From Ben & Rose: “Will You Travel Down This Road With Me?”

Ben & Rose have their latest new song out, a cover of “Will You Travel Down This Road With Me?” We’ve been getting a nice steady stream of about one new song per month. At this pace they are basically putting out a new album’s worth every year (which makes me wonder if another is in the works?)

This is their first studio release since “Simple Love” about a month ago. This one is a classic country duet. It was written by Kieran Kane and Jamie O’Hara (who recorded together as The O’Kanes), and was made popular by George Jones and Tammy Wynette, released by them in 1995.

This one has a lot of country flavor to it, with the fiddle and steel guitar twanging it up. Fiddle is performed by Jason Barie, and Daniel Beachy plays steel guitar, with producer Conrad Fisher on guitars, bass, drums, and percussion.

In fact, it might be the most country-sounding song they’ve done. Lyrically it’s a touching song, with a simple plea to another to spend a life’s journey together.

The video is shot in front of a picturesque covered bridge. Here are the lyrics:

“Will You Travel Down This Road With Me?” – Lyrics

Will you travel down this road with me
Help me be the one I want to be
Help me see the thing I long to see
Will you travel down this road with me?

Life’s a journey full of dreams
Hopes and possibilities
One of my dreams will come true
If I’m walkin’ next to you.

Will you travel down this road with me
Help me be the one I want to be
Help me see the thing I long to see
Will you travel down this road with me?

Many rivers we will cross
Many miles we will walk
Sharing laughter, sharing tears
Buildin’ memories through the years.

Will you travel down this road with me
Help me be the one I want to be
Help me see the thing I long to see
Will you travel down this road with me?

This is a catchy and fun one. Enjoy a listen here:
