Ben & Rose: “Hold Fast To The Right” (Full Song)
Not quite a month ago, we got Ben and Rose’s short preview version of “Hold Fast to the Right”, a 120-year-old hymn. About that, one commenter wrote “I have not hear this song in 70+ years—what a joy to now hear it again!”
Now the duo have just today released the full studio version. So this is happy news not only for that commenter, but thousands of others, no doubt.
As we noted before, this song is by James D. Vaughan, but was apparently made well-known by a famous old folk and country music outfit, according to the website Second Hand Songs:
Albert Brumley later arranged it and that is the version known today by The Carter Family recording in March 1938. A.P. Carter also registered it as his own, so this hymn is often erroneously assumed to be a Carter Family original.
The setting for the video is in the old church building at Ragamuffin Hall, where they have apparently been recording more of these visuals lately. It’s a simple and beautiful space.

Oh Ben & Rose’s new song is beyond beautiful…..their voices blend so nicely together. I just love them !!! Just cannot get enough of Ben & Rose’s singing !!! What a lovely couple and so very talented. I hope they stay this with their sweet, simple way of singing…it is so refreshing and they are such a lovely couple. Please Ben & Rose keep those songs coming !!! (I did get their CD and hope they record more!!!).
