Inside an Amish Pole Barn Home (with Farm Stand) – 20 Photos

I suppose the trendy word for this type of home is “barndominium”, but the listing simply describes it as a pole barn with living quarters, and that’s what I’ll go with too.
This property address is in Remus, Michigan (Mecosta County). The county has a pair of Amish settlements (though this may actually be a part of a nearby community in the neighboring county).

It’s an Amish home set up in a pole barn space, so you’d expect it to be simple and no-frills. And that’s what you get, though it does look like a nice little live-able space for someone with the right expectations.

This one is also notable in that the listing touts the established farm stand that comes along with the property.
The right buyer could take over an established business, assuming they’re able to keep supplying what the Amish family who lives here now has been providing.
From what I can tell by the photo, that includes eggs and canned goods. And it appears this family also produces lawn furniture:

From the description via Zillow:
This corner lot 8-acre-parcel in Remus Michigan has plenty to offer with 80×40 insulated Amish Built pole barn on a concrete slab with well, septic, & wood stove heated. PLUS an established road-side-farmstand for sharing your bounty with the community!
Partially completed living quarters inside and a huge shop to make your living HAPPEN! Plenty of room for a hobby farm, chickens, horses, cows, garden, or BUILD YOUR DREAM HOME, & run your business – Chippewa Hills School System, 14 minutes from Mount Pleasant – 36 minutes from Big Rapids.
Let’s check out the place inside. First, a look at the kitchen space again, from another angle.
The basic furniture is a set of traditional Amish pieces like rockers and bench table seating, paired with some “reusables” that look like they have some years on them, but still do the job.

Here’s a closer look at some of the seating. It appears the main living area and kitchen space blend together in this home, not uncommon for Amish homes.

And swinging back around here we see the cook stove, a Pioneer Maid model popular with the Amish. This will generate a good amount of heat for the home in winter months as well.

Next, on to the bedrooms. There are four listed in this home.

This one must be the parents’ room, with the crib:

And a children’s room, with bunk beds.

Next let’s have a glance in the well-stocked pantry, full of canned goods. I see pickles, peaches, beets, green beans, and some harder-to-identify things.

Here’s an all-purpose space where you have some storage and some basic office space as well.

Next we have the mud room, which serves as a place to hang coats, do laundry, and it looks like to bathe as well (this is a plainer group, reflected by the home’s lack of a standard bathroom, which a buyer would want to take into account).

Here’s where they heat up the water. Fire burns below, and the spigot is on the right.

A wash-up sink with a nice window view.

Here is the “huge” shop space they mention in the listing. It does look a good size, and would offer a lot of possibility for use.

Outside again, we get some more views of the eight-acre property. Nice wood supply ready to go. Not sure if that comes with the place or not.

Plenty of room for your horse or other animals.

Here’s the simple sign doing some old-fashioned advertising of the place.

So what’s the price on this Amish pole barn home property?

It’s currently on the market for $199,900, represented by Desiree Winans of Coldwell Banker Lakes Realty.
Could be a nice opportunity for the right buyer who might aim to run an at-home enterprise (with at least something of a pre-existing customer base given the farm stand business) and who appreciates “simpler living”.

Different bedrooms
You indicate that the first two bedroom photos are the same room. I disagree. The headboards are the same, but that is about it. Different quilts, different nightstands, and windows in different locations relative to the bed.
Ah, of course you are correct. I fixed it in the text. Thanks, not quite sure how I came up with that! Guess I need to slow down a bit 🙂
Little Homestead
That seems like a good price for this property. I can’t help but notice that in so many Amish homes that you show, the rolling office chairs at the head of the kitchen table. Seems I see one in almost all Amish homes. The head of the household’s must all grown up with their father’s sitting in one of these and as a right of passage they get their own when they start their own family. I also noticed the flooring in the bedrooms appears to be those interlocking foam puzzle type floor panels the are often used in children’s play areas. That’s pretty resourceful, I’m sure that’s a lot easier on the feet than the concrete floor when they step out of bed and probably offers some insulation as well in the winter.
