New For Easter From Ben & Rose: “Mighty to Save”

Ben and Rose have released a song in time for Easter. This is a more contemporary tune, called “Mighty to Save”, originally written and performed by members of Hillsong Church. The description reads: “Ben & Rose sing “Mighty to Save” written by Ben Fielding and Reuben Morgan celebrating Resurrection Day!”
This one has a bit different feel to it. It kicks off with some nice piano playing, which continues through the song. The couple are also standing and singing in the video, not playing any instruments. Those are two things that stand out about it.

The video also has some awesome visuals and I have to assume this is more of Conrad Fisher’s drone footage from around central Pennsylvania, where his venue Ragamuffin Hall is located.

Here are the lyrics:
“Mighty to Save” by Ben Fielding and Reuben Morgan
Everyone needs compassion
A love that’s never failing
Let mercy fall on me
Everyone needs forgiveness
The kindness of a Savior
The hope of nationsSavior He can move the mountains
My God is mighty to save
He is mighty to save
Forever Author of salvation
He rose and conquered the grave
Jesus conquered the graveSo take me as You find me
All my fears and failures
Fill my life again
I give my life to follow
Everything I believe in
And now I surrenderSavior He can move the mountains
My God is mighty to save
He is mighty to save
Forever Author of salvation
He rose and conquered the grave
Jesus conquered the grave
Great message and the song sounds great, with a nice uplifting feel. Though to be honest, after a couple of listens, I wouldn’t say I expect it to become a favorite of mine.

That’s not a knock on the song, it’s more a style preference, I would say. This one has a more modern Christian contemporary music feel. In any case it’s nice to see them trying something that feels a bit different.
Have a listen here and see (hear?) what you think. And Happy Easter! And while we’re on the topic, here’s more on how the Amish celebrate Easter.

Love this rendition – it is a song I am familiar with, and I love their simple rendition. Thanks for sharing it Erik

Beautiful song!
This is really beautiful. I just wonder why Ben & Rose have changed their clothing. I think they should keep it Amish- follow their beliefs.
A lot of people have wondered that! It happens sometimes and the community where they are from has been undergoing significant changes recently. I can’t speak for them, and don’t know what church they are in, but I would still guess their core Christian beliefs haven’t changed too radically if at all. Many Amish who leave the Old Order churches end up in Mennonite churches.
And I do agree it is a beautiful song, it has grown on me some since I first heard it.
