Amish Country Music Couple Release New Song Clip: “The Robin & The Eggs”
Lancaster County, Pennsylvania Amish couple Ben and Rose have just put out a clip of a new song they are working on: “The Robin and The Eggs”.

The clip is titled simply “The Robin And The Eggs – Ben & Rose Working On Some New Music”. As in the last teaser clip (“Dream of Me“), they are accompanied by producer Conrad Fisher on guitar and vocals.
Again like the last one, this is a short clip – just 22 seconds. But it gives you a nice feel for the song, which has a mournful tone.
“I know why the Robin is crying, said Wren with a sob in her breast. Her poor heart is achin’, for someone has taken, three little blue eggs from her nest,” the three sing.
Rather than a gospel genre tune, as the last several releases have been, this sounds more like a traditional ballad with a mournful tone. “Real folk music” as described on another version of the song (see below).
As of now, they haven’t released the last song they teased, so I don’t know if we should expect the full version of “The Robin And The Eggs” soon, or not. In any case, enjoy this preview clip:
Conrad Fisher has performed this song as well – on an older performance of it, he writes: “My mom sang me to sleep with this song. Her mom sang her to sleep with this song. We don’t know quite where it comes from, but we love it. It’s real folk music.”

Conrad Fisher singing
Love the little folk song about the Robin crying because someone has stolen 3 little blue eggs from her nest. A cute little song very appropriate for a mother to sing to her child (as Conrad Fisher’s Mother did). My Sister, Juanita Elliott has Facebook (I don’t) so I shared this with her as she loves birds & “the Amish.”
Mustache
Why does he habe a mustache? I wasn’t aware of any Amish sect that allows mustaches, especially in Lancaster County.
