A tragic Amish buggy wreck in Randolph County, Missouri happened yesterday. The victims were 20, 26 and 75 years old.

The 26 year-old-man was killed, and the 20-year-old woman had to be airlifted with serious injuries. A 75-year-old woman in the buggy had only minor injuries. As reported at KTTN:

A Randolph County crash involving a sport utility vehicle and a horse-drawn buggy left one man dead and two women injured Sunday afternoon.

The crash occurred on March 22, 2026, at 4:29 p.m. on Route M, about three miles west of Middle Grove, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The patrol reported that a 2021 Ford Escape, driven by a 75-year-old woman from Moberly, was traveling westbound when it struck the rear of a horse-drawn buggy also traveling westbound.

The buggy was driven by a 26-year-old man from Madison. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:56 p.m. by Randolph County Deputy Coroner Jeff Snodgrass.

As to which Amish community this is, the location where the accident happened and the man being from Madison suggests it might be the Clark community, one of the state’s largest, and a generally plainer group.

The motor vehicle was totaled, which suggests this was an impact with some speed. The crash has been described as “investigated” which suggests that it might be complete. The Missouri State Highway Patrol report can be found here.

Condolences to this man’s family. Such a young life gone. It’s not stated who the other two people were in the buggy at the time, but there is a good chance they were relatives. Prayers that the young woman will make a full recovery. And also prayers for the car driver.
