New from Ben & Rose: “Roses In The Snow” (UPDATE: Full Song Now Out)

UPDATE: We first heard this short clip of “Roses in the Snow” (see below) back in July. Ben & Rose have now released the full song – as the first track on their debut album. You’ll find that at the end of this post.

Ben and Rose are just out with a teaser of a new song they’re working on called “Roses in the Snow”.

The description tells us this is “Ben and Rose working up a song made popular by Emmy Lou Harris called ‘Roses in the Snow.'”

In the clip we see and hear Ben and Rose, and producer Conrad Fisher, working on the tune together at Ragamuffin Hall.

Like the other previews we’ve heard, this gives a nice – but short (just 22 seconds) – preview of an upcoming song.

It’s neat to compare these clips with the finished product, as with “The Robin & the Eggs” preview and final version.

The lyrics from this bit:

Our love was like a burning ember
It warmed us as the cold winds blow
We had sunshine in December
And grew our roses in the snow

Enjoy a listen here. Sounds great. Hopefully the full version is just around the corner:

Update: “Roses in the Snow” – Full Song

Here’s the full studio version of the song, from Ben & Rose’s album “Slowly But Surely”. No video with this one, but I think you’ll find the song sounds (unsurprisingly) great. I think it was a good choice to start the album with this one.
