If you’re looking to attend an Amish auction, here are several more happening in the coming days and weeks. These are mostly all sourced from recent news postings (linked below), so it is safe to say they are happening.

Two events are slated for this Saturday, with the rest scheduled for various dates in September. Three of them are school benefit auctions, one is a popular twice-annual event put on by an Amish family in Michigan, and one is a Lancaster County mud sale (or something like it).

1. Rogers, Ohio – Pine Hollow Amish School Benefit Auction (Saturday, August 29th)

This is in Columbiana County, OH. The community is just one church in size. This is northeast Ohio, not far from the PA border. Here’s the text of the news release about the event, in full:

ROGERS– A benefit for the Pine Hollow Amish School will be held Saturday at the school located on Pine Hollow Road near Rogers. There will be an auction beginning at 10 a.m. featuring a Raven crossbow, $500 shopping spree, patio set and pellet gun. There also will be a bake sale, a 50/50 raffle and raffle baskets. The drawing will be at 1 p.m. and the winner need not be present. Breakfast featuring pancakes, sausage, gravy and biscuits will be served from 8-10:30 a.m. Lunch featuring hamburgers, hot dogs, french fires and dessert will begin serving at 10:30. For more information on the event, call David at 831-6977 or Harvey at 330/360-9752. Donations are appreciated.

Could be a nice one to attend and support a smaller off-the-beaten-path community event.

2. Wadena, Minnesota – Amish Parochial School Consignment Auction (Saturday, August 29th)

Wadena is Minnesota’s oldest Amish community, at nearly a half-century in existence. The settlement lies almost smack dab in the middle of the state, about a 90-minute drive from Fargo or St. Cloud. This looks like a nice event. I wasn’t able to post the entire thing, but you’ll find the auction bill in full here.

3. Clare, Michigan – Yoder’s Amish Flea Market & Quilt Auction (Friday & Saturday, September 4th-5th)

The Clare County Cleaver newspaper reports that this event, held each spring and autumn, will be happening on Labor Day weekend. From the event description:

Each spring (third Fri. and Sat. of May) and late summer (Fri. and Sat. of Labor Day Weekend), the Yoder Family and their friends hold a large quilt auction and craft show. These events consist of rows of crafters, antiques, and flea marketers-hundreds of vendors in all! They are one of the largest, well attended, craft shows, flea markets, and quilt auctions in Michigan. The Yoder Family also host a horse and equipment auction two weeks before the quilt auction each spring and two weeks after each fall.

4. Gordonville, Pennsylvania Fall Auction (Saturday, September 19th)

Good news in that this is a Lancaster County fire company sale promoted by the station’s Mud Sale Facebook page. It sounds like this sale will not be the same as it is every year – no quilts or crafts, which are popular items – but I’m happy to see the fire companies having auctions again.

5. Canton, Pennsylvania – 12th Annual Canton Amish Parochial School Benefit Auction (Saturday, September 26th)

This is another school benefit held in a small one-church community in north-central Pennsylvania (Bradford County). Sounds like a nice little event with Amish auctioneers and the bill below really plugging the food (including Bar-B-Q chicken).
