New Ben & Rose Short: “Tomorrow In Your Hands”

Another short clip of a new song is out now from Ben & Rose. A nice simple video of the couple sitting with producer Conrad Fisher as they sing, while he plays guitar and also sings.

The caption says simply “Ben and Rose rehearse an old hymn called ‘Tomorrow in Your Hands’“. I’m not able to find who wrote this one and when, but here is the bit of the lyrics that we hear in this 31-second clip:

Help me to leave tomorrow with you Jesus

So many things I cannot understand

And when dark place waves* of fear would dash about me

Help me to leave tomorrow in your hand(s)

I am not quite sure about that third line, but it seems something close to that (if someone knows better please correct me 🙂 ). *Update: Thanks to Elmer for providing the background on this hymn and the lyrics in the comments. Elmer shares that it was written by Darrel Koehn and appears in Heartland Hymns, a hymnal popular in Plain circles.

This looks to be another promising tune “on deck” for the musical couple. Sometimes the studio versions of these shorts come out soon after they’re released, sometimes you have to wait a little while. In the meantime, have a listen to the rehearsal short here:

The song was written by Darrell Koehn in 1993 and is published in the Heartland Hymns (#280).
Here are the full words of the song:
    1. Sometimes the cares of life come pressing round me,
Fears of tomorrow tend to make me frown,
But then I pray “Oh Lord, please come and help me,
Don’t let my fears and worries get me down.”

    Chorus:
“Help me to leave tomorrow with you Jesus,
So many things I cannot understand,
And when dark waves of fear would dash about me,
Help me to leave tomorrow in your hand.”

    2. I cannot see beyond this fleeting moment,
The days ahead are hidden in God’s plan,
“Help me, oh Lord, to trust your constant leading, and in that confidence to always stand.”

    (Chorus)

    3. The past is gone, tomorrow is uncertain,
“Lord, take my hand and lead me safely on,
Until the cares of this short life are over,
Until the day of heaven’s glorious dawn.”

    (Chorus)

Thanks for the info on this Elmer, so it’s been around a little while but not as old as some they do. I will fix the third line in my excerpt, “waves” makes more sense than what I heard!
