Brand New From Ben & Rose: “Farther On”

Coinciding with their debut album release today, Ben and Rose have put out a new song and video.

And this one, “Farther On”, is a great choice as it sounds fantastic. Described as an “old gospel favorite”, the Amish couple deliver a great rendition.

The song is calm and understated with some delicate playing. In the video, the pair sing on a beautiful Pennsylvania hillside on a windswept day.

Here are the lyrics to the hymn, which reminds us that “Jesus will forsake you never, It is better farther on”:

Farther On

As we travel through this desert
Storms beset us all the way,
But beyond the river Jordan
Lies a land of endless day

Farther on, still go farther
Count the milestones one by one
Jesus will forsake you never
It is better, farther on

Oh my brother are you weary
Of the roughness of the way
Does your strength begin to fail you
Let the Savior lead the way

Farther on, still go farther
Count the milestones one by one
Jesus will forsake you never
It is better, farther on

At my grave oh still be singing
Do not weep for one that’s gone
Sing it as we once did sing it
“It is better, Farther on!”

Farther on, still go farther
Count the milestones one by one
Jesus will forsake you never
It is better, farther on

Some great producing and visuals by Conrad Fisher help deliver another sure winner for Ben & Rose. A simple, classic song with a simple message.

This song is included on their new album, out today. Enjoy a listen here:

I don’t get why these “Youngie”think they are better than what the elders have set before them? I am not trying to make them out to be bad and I am not trying to be disrespectful!
