Flip The Script: This Time, Amish Rescue ENGLISH From Flood (Video)

In a reversal of roles I should have seen coming, Amish have now rescued an English driver from flood waters.

It was just a week ago when we learned of an Amishman and his horse being rescued by EMA responders from flooding in Tennessee.

Now in Kentucky, Amish have, in a way, returned the favor – pulling a stranded vehicle with two passengers out of flood waters. From WNKY:

PEMBROKE, Ky. – Two people in a vehicle were pulled out of flood waters Tuesday morning.

According to a report from WNKY News 40 partner WKDZ Radio, a car occupied by a man and a woman stalled out in flood waters on Pruitt Lane.

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office says the vehicle was traveling toward Bradshaw Lane when it entered the water and stalled. The car was in waist-deep water.

WKDZ Radio says an Amish community responded to the scene and used its horses to pull the vehicle out of the water.

The woman in the vehicle was transported for treatment.

Apparently the Amish help arrived before non-Amish responders could get there. This happened in Christian County, KY.

There is a short FB video clip by the Pembroke Fire Department which shows the rescue operation underway:

Nicely done!

Other Times Amish Rescued English

This isn’t the first time Amish have come to the aid of non-Amish drivers of course. To recall a few of them:

Last January Amish rescued an SUV which had gotten stuck in a ditch in snowy weather. This one was in Tennessee.

In 2022 – again in Tennessee – Amish got a driver out of a ditch in inclement conditions, in I believe the Ethridge community.

We’ve also seen the Amish team which freed a stuck 18-wheeler. I cover some of these in the video below. In these modern time, always cool to see the old-fashioned horsepower doing its part!

    Amish help English during flood

    Hey Erik,
I see my comment just posted about the Amish man with 2 horses who rescued 2 people in a stalled car. However I did NOT post that comment under “Do Amish think technology is evil.” What the . . . ??
What’s going on?? Could you please move my post (Feb. 19, 2025) to the title I actually posted to which is “Amish help English during flood”?? Being under the wrong comment title like this makes me look like an idiot & it’s embarrassing to me. Thanks!
