This Idyllic Ohio Amish Homestead Has 3 Barns, an Icehouse, and Its Own Creek (35 Photos)

This Amish home listing in Frazeysburg, Ohio contains the description “some of the most beautiful farm ground you can imagine.” Hard to argue after seeing these lovely photos.

The property is 25 acres with the Wakatomika Creek running right along its western edge (visible in the photo below). The presence of an icehouse building (we’ll see that farther down) suggests this is an Amish group that skews to the plainer side.

This property even has a name – which may be an invention of the real estate people, as the Amish don’t typically name their farms as English often do.

In any case, it’s called County Line Farm, and the name is literal – the property straddles the Coshocton–Licking County line in eastern Ohio, technically lying in both counties.

You might recognize Coshocton as being one of the counties in the greater Holmes County settlement, the country’s second-largest Amish community.

But this home is in a different part of the county, and is considered a separate community. According to the Young Center’s 2025 population data, it was founded in 2007 and currently has two church districts totaling about 175 people.

Inside the Home

The outside setting is beautiful, and we see the interior is attractive as well. The kitchen is spacious and picture-perfect. A long counter, plenty of beautifully-finished cabinetry, a gas cookstove, and open shelving with rows of coffee mugs lined up.

Beautiful table with the traditional bench for younger diners. And it took me awhile to notice the interesting “rough” wood elements on both the chairs and table. I’ve actually never seen this specific design before. It looks like a combination of traditional furniture with hickory chair elements.

A packed pantry that is probably one of the most well-used spaces in the entire home.

Main Sitting Room

The main sitting room gives off cozy vibes, with a wood-burning stove with a brick chimney and a grandfather clock in the corner. The hickory rockers with the tumbling-blocks-patterned covers are a nice touch:

Wood stoves are one of the three main ways Amish heat their homes, and they’re among the most common.

Bedrooms

As noted there are five bedrooms in total. And as is sometimes – even often – the case, not all of them are completely finished. Here’s one that is though – with a bed covered by a beautiful blue Bargello pattern quilt, and a crib, suggesting this is likely the parents’ room.

Another bedroom, this one with a colorful checkered quilt and a portable playpen. As you see by the walls this is either unfinished or mid-renovation. Appears to be a girls’ room.

Now this next one is clearly a boys’ room. Animal pelts, and a rifle on the wall attest to the popularity of hunting among the Amish, and this family is no different.

And another hunter’s bedroom with nearly every item of decor related to the pastime. Hunting is a common pursuit for Amish men and boys (and sometimes, ladies). A fall deer harvest helps fill the family freezer and canning jars. And provides trophies, as we see here.

More Spaces

A few other interior spaces worth showing. The mud room has straw hats hanging on the wall alongside work coats, boots, portable lamps, and an additional stove to supplement the kitchen stove, possibly for canning as well (more on that below).

The Basement

Amish basements are nothing if not functional. We see multiple uses with this one. First, the canning shelves. They are pretty well-stocked still – pickles, beans jams, canned meat,  and what looks like an array of other vegetables and fruits.

And this is what it takes to put all those jars up – a large stainless steel wood-fired canner, with what looks like a two-burner gas cooker on the left wall.

Another view of the basement gives you a sense of the layout. Many Amish families use their basement spaces for holding church service; not sure if that’s the case here.

Below the porch, on the walk-out side, is what looks like a covered outdoor kitchen, or at least a prep area which might be used for processing garden harvests.

Barns and The Icehouse

The listing describes three well-maintained barns. Here are two of them.

The third barn is the older weathered wooden one you see in the aerial shots. Here’s a peek at its interior with plank floor and heavy timber framing.

One of the barns appears to be serving as an open buggy shed.

And here’s the icehouse. A small white metal-sided outbuilding with what are almost certainly heavily insulated walls. And in a nice detail, a pair of iron ice tongs hangs on the outside wall in a heart shape:

Amish who don’t use gas refrigeration store blocks of ice inside heavily insulated small buildings. The walls can be a foot or more thick. The ice inside keeps things cold for months. Some families cut their own ice from ponds in winter while others buy it.

The Creek and Land

And here’s the Wakatomika Creek, taken from what looks like a bridge crossing.

The pastureland stretches out from the house. The listing calls it “lush, level pastureland”. And a heavily-forested ridgeline. Beautiful.

So there you have it. A beautifully scenic Amish farm in eastern Ohio, on 25 acres of picturesque land, with a pretty sizeable home and multiple outbuildings. So what’s the price on this property?
