Ben & Rose Perform “On Heaven’s Bright Shore” Live With Conrad Fisher

Ben & Rose have put out a live version of the first song they released this year – “On Heaven’s Bright Shore”. It’s a simple song where Rose’s vocals really have space to shine. Ben and producer Conrad Fisher add nice backing vocals and understated guitar. This was recorded in front of an audience at Ragamuffin Hall. As far as I can tell, this is the first full live performance to appear on their channel.

While it’s a live recording, it sounds great, almost like a studio recording. They released their studio take back in January, the first song they put out where it was pretty clear they were no longer Amish by their appearance in the video. This live recording sounds quite close to that studio-produced version, which is a testament to their abilities.

As I noted in that original post, I don’t know a lot about this song, though this version was written by Roscoe Reed, and there are multiple versions. So you may know a different song by this name. Once more, here are the lyrics, which tell of “a place of marvelous grace” where death and goodbyes are no more, “just singing His praise through endless days.”

On Heaven’s Bright Shore Lyrics

Out on the hills of glory land
So happy and free at God’s right hand
They tell of a place of marvelous grace
On Heaven’s bright shore

Pilgrims on earth someday will go
To live in that home forever more
Trusting in Him who died for sin,
And rose from the grave

On Heaven’s bright shore (on Heaven’s bright shore),
There’s gonna be no more dyin’ (over there)
Not one little grave (not one little grave),
In all that fair land (that wonderful land).
Not even a tear will dim the eye,
And no one up there will say goodbye
Just singing His praise through endless days
On Heaven’s bright shore (on Heaven’s bright shore)

When I must cross that rolling tide,
There’ll be someone on the other side
Welcoming me to that fair land,
Made perfect by love

When I walk up that milky white way,
I’ll see that home coming in a ray
How great it must be for angels to see
A pilgrim reach home

On Heaven’s bright shore (on Heaven’s bright shore),
There’s gonna be no more dyin’ (over there)
Not one little grave (not one little grave),
In all that fair land (that wonderful land)
Not even a tear will dim the eye,
And no one up there will say goodbye
Just singing His praise through endless days
On Heaven’s bright shore (on Heaven’s bright shore),
Just singing His praise through endless days
On Heaven’s bright shore
