New Ben & Rose Short: “Stroll Over Heaven”

While we haven’t gotten a full video in awhile, Ben and Rose have been pouring on the shorts lately. Their latest is “Stroll Over Heaven”.
This one is simply Ben playing guitar and singing with Rose in a 37-second clip (below). The simple description attached to the clip is “Ben and Rose work out ‘Stroll Over Heaven’ at Ragamuffin Hall”.

Sounds like another lovely tune. On looking it up, it seems the full name of the song as it was originally written was “I Want To Stroll Over Heaven With You.”
Happily, I came across an old Facebook post by Ben and Rose’s producer Conrad Fisher, where he gives a bit more background on the tune, which was written by Carl Trivette in 1952:
I have the impression this was Trivette’s best-known song. It was apparently written for his wife Marilee Rasnake. Here are the lyrics:
I Want to Stroll Over Heaven
If I surveyed all the good things that come to me from above,
If I could count all the blessings from the storehouse of love,
I’d simply ask for the favor of him beyond mortal men,
And I’m sure that he’d grant it again.I want to stroll over Heaven with you some glad day,
When all our troubles and heartaches are vanished away.
Then we’ll enjoy the beauty where all things are new,
I want to stroll over Heaven with you.So many places of beauty we long to see here below,
But time and treasures have kept us from making plans as you know;
But come the morning of rapture together we’ll stand a new,
While I stroll over Heaven with you.
