Turning the corner on winter?
A lone snowman holds on for dear life outside an Amish schoolhouse in this photo from Rick.
Today is the first day of March, and assuming things go to plan, that means Spring is not too far off.
Amish will soon be planting (some already are) and in Lancaster County in particular, mud sales will be happening soon (and in fact a few early ones have already taken place).
Not that we won’t escape these last three weeks completely unscathed.
With the way this winter has gone I have a feeling Mother Nature may still have something in store!
Why go buy mud when there’s always plenty around? (Yes, I know it’s the muddy yard spring auction…)
Look, Magdalena, they have some great deals on mud–and you can never have too much of that stuff around!
Speaking of snowmen, a letter in Die Botschaft newpaper a few weeks ago said the children & men had built a 21 foot tall one that was either 7 or 9 foot in diameter. Don’t remember the state but it wasn’t Florida.
Sounds more like a snow-yeti!
