This photo, taken near Mount Hope, Ohio, dates from mid-September of this year. No idea what’s going on here. This ‘cart’ has perhaps lost its wheels, or is maybe being used out-of-season. Any ideas?–please comment if so. In any case, it seems to be getting the job done.

The stories are heartbreaking. You feel for the victims. It’s hard to imagine what they’ve been through. But at the same time, a 20/20 piece on Amish abuse from a few years back points to the generalizations that many journalists rely on to tell their story. I don’t know but it kinda looks like fun!
I think this is called a “Mud Wagon” and was or is used around the farm in the back fields.
That would make sense…maybe in some of the sloppier areas around the farm this would be a better way to get around.
