Merry Christmas 2016

Merry Christmas to all Amish America readers. The Amish of course observe the Christmas season, and in a variety of ways.

The next couple hours were spent singing for old folks, widows, and house-bound people. We had also brought grocery bags, gift baskets, and fruit trays which we handed out.

Around 8:30 we were all back and enjoyed a light supper and hot drinks. After some chatting as young folks do, we headed home. If it would have been a Friday night we likely would have played games a while. Many other youth groups, besides family and church groups, go caroling too.

2. Youth Christmas Supper

We had ours the past Friday night. Everyone gathered at my uncle’s home where several host Moms had prepared a delicious supper of…

      Merry Christmas to all

      Erik,
Wishing all Amish in Lancaster, Pa., and where you travel.
I read a lot of Amish theme books and recently found out at a family reunion my great grandfather was married to an Amish Girl .. made me feel great and my aunt was Mennonite.
As for their simplicity and me on limited income I have learned that living a simple life can help make my monies go a bit further. I don’t put them on a pedestal but do respect their way of life. For years I always wanted to live in their communities, I live in central PA. But still distant. Thank for your pages.
