Here’s yet another Amish home for sale in the Hillsboro, Kentucky community (see here and here for some previous examples). This one is notable for a couple of reasons – one is that it comes with a second home, a small dawdihaus-type property (smaller home on the property for grandparents). The second is that these are some of the most beautifully-captured images in a listing I’ve seen from this community – and maybe in general, as far as Amish homes go.
As mentioned in other posts, a lot of Amish homes have gone up for sale in this community in recent times. I visited the area in December and heard myself from an Amishman that a number of Amish had lately moved out (unclear why exactly).
The Amish here have ties to the Buchanan County, Iowa community. This is one of the largest affiliations of Amish, having communities in approximately 20 states.
The listing via Zillow:
TWO AMISH BUILT HOMES!!! First home has 3200s/f with 7 bedrooms total with the MASTER located on the first floor. The second home has Approx 976s/f with 2 bedrooms. Both homes have large kitchens and living room areas as well and good sized bedrooms. Both have large front porches to enjoy the views of the woods and the farm. 28 surveyed acres is the perfect size to homestead or run a business. No restrictions!!!
Approx half the acreage is cleared for crops, pasture and livestock. The other half of the property is wooded with space to hunt. Several barns, buildings, structures and animal shelters are positioned for easy use. The largest barn is approx 56×96 with the front portion concreted. Much of the property is fenced. Private drive!!! Beautiful Fleming Co will not disappoint if you are looking to get out of the city and start a new life!! Call today for your showing. No Sunday Showing.
Though the listing states there is one bathroom, I don’t believe there would be a standard bathroom in this community’s homes.
Kitchen & living room
Have a look inside the picture-perfect kitchen and living area.
Love the view of those hats all neat in a row.
Bedrooms
Here you can see most of the home’s seven bedrooms.
This room puts the lie to any idea that Amish homes aren’t colorful.
Basement & Wash room
Looks like they’ve been canning something bright yellow but I can’t tell what.
Second home
Here’s the second home and some views inside.
Very cozy and homey-looking space.
Barn
Finally, a look inside the barn, with buggies, basketball hoop and so on.
You don’t see an SMV triangle on these buggies, but in this group it is placed on the back when traveling.
Price
How much does this property cost? 28 acres, two homes, combined 4100+ square feet, nine bedrooms between the two of them.
It’s listed currently for $379,000 by Angie Stevens of Homeland Real Estate Inc.
P.S. I’ve never discussed this, but just to make clear – I don’t get any payment from the sales of these homes. I simply share and discuss the photos as interesting examples of Amish homes – and hopefully it helps spread the word on behalf of the seller, eventual buyer, agent, etc.

Beautiful Home
Beautiful house and furnishings. Surprised to see several “god’s eye” style wall-hangings in the bedrooms (looks like pictures of deer in the center?) as these would be symbols related to pagan gods and legends.
Wonderful.
What beautiful homes.I would love to live in one of these.
The first 2 bedroom pictures.
Noticed toy trucks in one bed room. Including a 4×4.
And another seemed to have a picture of Arnold Schwarzenegger from the movie ‘Predator’ on the wall. You have to zoom in but it’s there.
And both rooms were hanging those little pine tree car air freshners.
So Im gonna say say those 2 bedrooms were the boys rooms.
Interesting!
Thanks for sharing these “real estate for sale” articles. Very enjoyable.
Blue seems to be the interior color of choice just like the Nebraska Order in the Big Valley area.
Yes blue seems to be popular here though I think you don’t have the blue trim/doors etc. in this group. I am no interior design person but am a fan of the color for these home accents though. Cheerful
Kentucky towns
I think you should come out to Hopkinsville Kentucky and Crofton Kentucky and check out how they live out here. Everyone that is Amish and Crofton right around on electric bicycles. And drive tractors. There are several stores in Crofton that are owned by the Amish. A lot of trailer manufacturers and flatbed manufacturers are owned by Amish we also have kitchen Queen here which makes the kitchen Queen stove. Maybe you should come down and check us out. Enjoy your week
