Tennessee Amish by Mindy Frey.
I just visited the Delano market in Polk County Tennessee this week! My Mom, sister and I went on a Wednesday and hit the jackpot. The fresh, homemade breads and bakery items were amazing! I bought tomato bread, pickled beets (to die for if you like them!)peanut butter cookies and fresh turnip greens. Oh, and the cinnamom roll was better than Cinnabon! They have tons of fresh produce, jams, jelly, sorgum molasses, honey, laundry detergent, soaps in all scents, brooms, horse tack, and one Saturday a month, live animal sales. They do ask with several signs that you be dresses properly, which includes no low cut tops or stap tops as the sign says. They are conservative but friendly, and will answer any questions you have. Have cash handy as they dont have electricity, so no debit machines. It is really neat looking out the back windows at the horse and buggies they have parked out there. If you are in the area, give them a try. You wont be sorry.
