I never thought about it, but I wonder how Amish and Mennonites in Canada, particularly the Old Order types, observe what we call “May 2-4” a long weekend holiday that commemorates the birthday of the Queen of England at the time of Canadian Confederation. Queen Victoria. Perhaps they do it quietly, or enjoy the long weekend without acknowledging worldly/English observation. We have fireworks that weekend. What do you think?
