Amish Markets – Indiana

Amish Markets in the Hoosier State

IN Amish Market

Indiana is home to over 40,000 Amish. A number of market locations sell Amish products around the state, from those in the southern Indiana Amish community of Daviess County, to the Fort Wayne-area communities of Adams and Allen counties, to the heavily-Amish regions of northern Indiana around Nappanee and Shipshewana.

    2. Spice Shop In Grabill IN

Hi! Just found this site a few weeks ago and have been making my way through it. I’m Amish but seems I’m learning things I didn’t know!

Grabill, IN doesn’t seem to have the small, home-based businesses that a lot of communities do but I thought I would invite you all to my shop called The Spice Shack. We specialize in bulk seasonings, medicinal/culinary herbs, loose-leaf teas, baking ingredients, and just recently started adding assorted kitchen accessories.

If you are in the area, stop by the shop and say HI!

      Looking for Amish Produce

Hi there! I just moved to evansville IN from Fort Wayne, (Allen County) I’ve been buying my produce from an Amish Market on Doty Rd. in Allen County for 20 + years and am struggling to find anything like it here in Southern IN. I am willing to drive an hour or more if necessary to find an Amish grown produce. If there are any you know of my kids and I would really appreciate the info on them!
      Thanks,
      Hillary McCarty

      1. Hillary, if you’re in Evansville, you’re only about an hour from the largest Amish community in southern Indiana – Daviess County area. Home to almost 5,000 Amish, quite a bit larger than Allen County. Nice area. I bet you’d find what you need there. The Amish live more or less between the towns of Odon and Montgomery.

There are also other communities that might be closer to you in southern Indiana, though not as large.

        Happy produce hunting!

      2. Al in Ky

Hillary — Erik posted a good suggestion and I’ll provide another. In Daviess County there is a very good Amish produce auction (I’ve been there many times). I believe auctions are held beginning in April and last until the end of October each year. The peak months for produce are June through mid-September (not much produce available in April and early May). Their address is 9084 E. 550 N., Montgomery, Indiana, with their phone number being 812-486-2445. You may call that number beginning in April to get the auction schedule. It is held two to three days each week.
The first part of the auction features “large lots” which are bought mainly by stores, produce stands, etc. who do re-sale, but
during the last part of the auction “small lots” are sold, where you can buy smaller amounts suitable for home use. There are probably smaller produce stands in that area; just ask around at one of the Amish stores in Daviess Co. and they likely can direct you.
The produce auction barn is across the road from Dinky’s Auction, a large auction barn that has auctions beginning at 6 p.m. almost every Friday year-round. During the summer months, they also sell a lot of Amish-grown produce in small lots. I have bought much very good produce at Dinky’s at very reasonable prices.

Hello, I am looking for a Amish family with the last name Stoltzfus. I am friends with two of the daughters and I am having trouble contacting them. Of course I could do it by letter, which I have always done but for some reason my last one did not make it at there home. If there is a faster way to come in contact with them, please let me know.

      Searching & Learning

Hi, I am located in Indianapolis, just minutes from center of downtown, and have been looking for an Amish place to purchase meat, produce and other goods. It seems every place I’ve found is 2 to 3 hour drive. Does anyone have any suggestions on places closer to buy produce, cheese, baked goods and stock up on Amish meat? Any suggestions would be helpful! Thanks I’m advance!!!!
