Colorado Amish Furniture 13-Store Guide

The Centennial State is one of the latest destinations for a growing Amish population settling west of the Mississippi.  While some western states rely primarily on shipments from eastern Amish furniture makers, Colorado has some of its own local craftsmen producing pieces for the home.

Residents of Denver, Fort Collins, Boulder, Grand Junction, and Colorado Springs have access to Amish-made furniture dealers either in their hometowns or within manageable driving distance.

Amish Furniture

Amish craftsmen produce a wide range of wood furniture for every room of the house, including kitchen cabinets, bedroom sets, dining room tables, and children’s furniture. Find a store near you in our directory.

Craftsmanship and diverse styles

Amish excel at furniture-making.  Attention to detail and commitment to quality make Amish hardwood furniture a high-value proposition.  Amish believe in a job well done, a spirit they have carried over from traditional dairy farms into bustling furniture shops scattered across America’s Amish communities.

Buyers of Amish furniture typically appreciate the solid construction and attention to detail. “Heirloom” and “timeless” are adjectives commonly used to describe Amish-made pieces.  Amish furniture is not just “rustic and country”; modern-day Amish producers create a range of contemporary styles.

Amish specialize in cabinetry work, outdoor furniture including poly pieces, tables (end, coffee, dining), occasional pieces, bedframes, dressers, bookcases, and many other items.

Pennsylvania Dutch family woodworking tradition

Furniture making is a family affair.  In Colorado and other states, all members of the family contribute to the success of the Amish wood shop.  Fathers typically run shops, with sons learning the woodworking trade.

Wives are essential in many Amish businesses, assisting with bookwork, ordering, or even physical labor.  Younger children chip in as well, learning a strong work ethic from an early age doing tasks such as sweeping up the shop.

Centenntial State Amish furniture

Amish moving to Colorado were faced with different conditions than those they were used to back East.  Though land is much cheaper than farm acreage in places like Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and northern Indiana, growing conditions in the San Luis Valley, where Amish have focused their settlement, are poorer.

Many Amish have focused on home business, including furniture. Today, Amish furniture meccas like Holmes County, Ohio, attract tourists by the millions. Will the San Luis Valley one day become the Colorado Amish furniture capital?

    1. Update Info

      Hello,

My name is Andrea Mulkey. I am one of the owners of Amish Cabinets of Denver. A customer called me today to notify us that the info you have for us is incorrect. I am not sure if you are able to correct this but our phone number is 303-301-4343

      Thanks!
      Andrea

      1. Just fixed it for you Andrea.

      Desks?

I’m looking for a home office desk. I live in Denver. I was hoping to spend about $500-$700, but it seems everything is in the thousands. Is there anywhere in Denver, CO where I can find a good solid wood desk for that price range?

      Repair needed

Purchased a beautiful chair about ten years ago. You repaired it once about three years ago and again it is in need of repair. It is probably simple as it will not rock. Last time you came all the way from Fort Collins to pick it up and fix it. I am hopeful that you can do this again. Thank you.

      1. Hi Marcia, you probably need to contact the business you bought it from directly. This is just a directory listing of Amish furniture businesses, not an individual company.

      Amish Furniture Gallery Location Update

Hello! I’m Morgan from the company Amish Furniture Gallery, which you have listed above. Our Denver locations have closed and we have moved back to our original Westminster, CO location at 8483 Church Ranch Blvd. (303-466-8612)

To confirm, our two Colorado locations are in Centennial and Westminster.
      Thank you!

    7. Now that's quality!

There are very few household goods that can match the level of craftsmanship you get with Amish furniture. It has its own style, an insane longevity, and is sold from top to bottom. This was an eye-opener as I thought the Amish only lived in the northeastern U.S. The link for Amish furniture nationwide was helpful too. I would definitely encourage people to check genuine Amish furniture out.
